Well what a year it has been here at Morkerbook Kennels, with our Australian Kelpies and Swedish Vallhunds both performing well in the show ring.

The year started off with Morkerbook Hot Embers receiving Puppy in Show at Callide Valley Kennel Club, qualifying her for the Puppy of the Year Zone 2 Finals.

Next came an extremely pleasant surprise with our Swedish Vallhund Grand Ch Dlarah Witchcraft receiving a Best in Group and Australian Bred in Group at Gin Gin Show Society.  Also to add to that surprise our Australian Kelpie Morkerbook Hot Embers won Reserve in Group and Junior in Group at the same show. The following day she followed this up with a Junior in Show at Isis and District Canine Club.

The end of June saw our 5th Grand champion kelpie in Grand Champion Morkerbook Suntucht Bell.

At Isis and District Canine Club show in August our homegrown Ch Morkerbook Burning Flame won Best in Show, also qualifying him for the Dog of the Year Zone 2 Finals.  To top the day off our youngster Morkerbook Hot Embers went Junior in Show on the same day.

The Zone 2 Finals were held in Bundaberg on September 19th seeing both Morkerbook Hot Embers and Ch Morkerbook Burning Flame qualified.  Ember finished as one of the last 6 qualifiers and Burnie went on to win Runner Up Dog of the Year for Zone 2. 

            To add to the success of the weekend Ember finished the weekend support shows as an Australian Champion and Burnie added another Best in Group to his mounting wins.

At Gladstone Kennel Club the following weekend, Grand Champion Dlarah Witchcraft was awarded her 2nd Best in Group for the year, then on the following day at the club's Open Show she was awarded Best In Show.

The beginning of November saw the arrival of our last shows for the year, being Maryborough Kennel Club.  Ch Morkerbook Olympic Flame at 8 years of age was awarded Best of Breed both days, accumulating 24 points for the weekend.  Ch Morkerbook Burning Flame finished the weekend and the year off with a State Bred in Show.

What a great way to finish the year.
